When we originally wrote "Best Days," it was back in 2018, before we officially formed Adore Praise & Worship. No joke, it wasn’t even intended to be a worship song! But through God’s mysterious ways, He can take anything and use it for His glory and our good. In this blog post, we wanted to take you behind the scenes and share how "Best Days" came to be.
The song was first written in the winter of 2018. If you know our story, you’ll remember that we had all just moved back to Miami from New York and California. Michelle was still studying in Tallahassee, and we were beginning a new season of life back in our hometown. One day while hanging out and catching up in the backyard, we thought it would be fun to write songs. That’s where "Best Days" was born.
Originally, it was just a feel-good song about being home again, reunited with each other, our parents, and the chance to start fresh. At the time, we weren’t practicing our faith as seriously and, in many ways, were still walking in the ways of the world. But God was with us, already preparing to use our passion for music to serve His Kingdom.

Shortly after, we began attending St. Augustine Catholic Church’s Young Adult Group to meet other young adults in the community. In the summer of 2019, they hosted an Open Mic Talent Show. With Michelle back in town, the four of us signed up and performed "Best Days" for the first time, and it actually turned out pretty good!
From there, we slowly started playing praise and worship at other St. Augustine Young Adult Group events, including an adoration night and a virtual concert. Around this time, we felt inspired by the Holy Spirit to write new songs - songs about faith and God. So, we revisited "Best Days" and decided to rewrite the lyrics.
The song took on a new message and meaning: a message of hope for anyone struggling or facing life’s storms. The lyrics became God speaking directly to the listener. That’s why the song says, "Hear my voice, rest in me". It’s the voice of God offering comfort and peace.
The chorus lyrics, "These are the best days, rainbows are near, shadows have fallen, the smoke has been cleared," describes the hope of Heaven. It encourages us to look beyond life’s hardships to the promise of eternal paradise with God. The bridge lyrics, "Be not afraid… you’re safe here forever, it’s true," are God’s reminder that with Him, we are safe. Even when challenges, fear, and suffering arise, He is with us and will see us through.

Four years later, we felt called to record "Best Days" and share it with the world to offer encouragement and the hope of Jesus Christ. In many ways, the lyrics have come true in our own lives, and we believe they can in yours too.
The music video is a montage of clips from our pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, a place many describe as heaven on earth because of its breathtaking beauty and profound holiness. Millions of faithful pilgrims travel there to pray and experience God’s presence, making it the perfect backdrop to complement the song’s theme.
We hope "Best Days" reminds you that God is always with you. In Him, you will find hope, rest, peace, true love, and belonging. Whatever you’re going through, trust that He is working it out for your good. God changes things! Even the most complex, hopeless, and fearful situations are within His power to redeem.
Take a moment to reflect: How might God be leading you away from fear, bad habits, or worldly living and guiding you toward Him, holiness, and a Christ-centered life?
Living with Him truly are the best days, and the best days ultimately await us in the Kingdom of Heaven!
"Best Days" is available wherever you stream your music!
